Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Vernon

While Vernon's victory against Wallkill Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won eight in a row.

Jayden Chornobroff looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Vernon's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chris Perrotta, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Vernon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Wallkill Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

As of now, neither Vernon nor the Rangers have any future games scheduled.
