Volleyball Game Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

The Stevens Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Stevens will be strutting in after a victory while Sotomayor will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Stevens turned things around against Marshall on Friday. They blew past the Rams 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Falcons have posted against the Rams since September 28, 2021.

Stevens was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Sotomayor's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to Harlan.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13, 16-25, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Sotomayor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marina Soliz had 15 digs and five assists. Soliz has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Sotomayor's loss dropped their record down to 21-19. As for Stevens, their victory bumped their record up to 24-18.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Stevens has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.7 aces per game.
