Softball Recap: William Blount Gets the Win

William Blount's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the West Rebels get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.

Katee Owens made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Owens was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Owens wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Morton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

William Blount's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, William Blount will be playing at home against Heritage at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West, they will take on Roane County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
