Baseball Recap: Palisades Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Palisades never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Olympic Trojans 16-0. Considering the Pumas have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Palisades got a great performance from Blake Devis as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Devis also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Pumas are 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Addison Rowland was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Palisades' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Josh Steveson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Palisades kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

With the win, Palisades broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13. As for Olympic, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palisades will welcome Ardrey Kell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pumas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Olympic, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Berry at 6:00 p.m.
