Basketball Preview: Alanson Vikings vs. Boyne Falls Loggers
Alanson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Boyne Falls Loggers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Alanson will be strutting in after a win while the Loggers will be coming in after a loss.
Alanson can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 101-7 win over Alba at home. Alanson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Boyne Falls' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Ellsworth 72-20. Boyne Falls was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.
Alanson's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Boyne Falls, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Alanson against the Loggers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alanson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
