Lytle won the last time they faced Poteet and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates walked away with a 39-29 win over the Aggies. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pirates' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1386th, while the Aggies are ranked 625th).

The win made it two in a row for Lytle and bumps their season record up to 4-11. As for Poteet, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lytle will take on Lutheran in a tournament on the 29th. As for Poteet, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hondo at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
