Football Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

After soaring to 43 points the game before, Bridgeport was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They were beaten by the Oak Glen Golden Bears 56-3. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 652nd in Ohio, while the Golden Bears are ranked 50th in West Virginia).

Jaki Threet threw for 50 yards on five of 12 attempts. Braylon Lewis was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Logan Murray, who rushed for 93 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 72 receiving yards and one TD for Oak Glen.incredibly, Murray got all that yardage with just one huge grab Another back making a difference was Jacob Everett, who rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown.

Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Oak Glen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Bridgeport didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-21 victory against Shadyside on the 17th. As for Oak Glen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 29-21 loss against Tyler on the 17th.
