Basketball Recap: Delhi Comes Up Short

Delhi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Denham Springs Yellowjackets 60-13. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 25th).

Delhi's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Denham Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Delhi will take on Delhi Charter in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.1 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Denham Springs, they have already played their next game, a 52-48 defeat against Slidell on the 19th.
