It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Woodhaven ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trenton Trojans, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on four straight.
Evan Holt looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dante Perry was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Woodhaven's record is now 13-3. As for Trenton, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodhaven will challenge Anderson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
