Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Democrats vs. Manual Arts Toilers

Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Manual Arts recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Jefferson Democrats will look to defend their home court against the Manual Arts Toilers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in December of 2024, Jefferson didn't have too much trouble with Maywood CES as they won 42-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Democrats.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manual Arts). They put the hurt on Dr. Maya Angelou Community with a sharp 87-64 win on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Toilers have posted since December 6, 2024.

Jefferson better keep an eye on Devin Moody. He was instrumental in Manual Arts' win, dropping a triple-double on 37 points, 16 boards, and ten assists. The contest was Moody's 36th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bry'Cen Carter, who went 10 of 17 en route to 30 points.

Manual Arts' win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 53.3 points. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Jefferson was taken down by Manual Arts 107-27 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jefferson was down 66-17.
