Basketball Recap: Dra Jackson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Mary's Academy

While Oak Mountain Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 58-45 victory over the St. Mary's Academy Bobcats on Tuesday. The Warriors pushed the score to 47-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Oak Mountain Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dra Jackson, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 16 points. Ole Seehars was another key player, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

Oak Mountain Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for St. Mary's Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Oak Mountain Academy will head out on the road to face off against St. George's at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will welcome Furtah Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
