Baseball Game Preview: Shepherd Bluejays vs. St. Louis Sharks

The Shepherd Bluejays will take on the St. Louis Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Shepherd will be strutting in after a win while St. Louis will be coming in after a defeat.

Shepherd came out on top against Bullock Creek on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Bluejays took their matchup against the Lancers 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bluejays.

Kaden Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tristin Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Robinson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, St. Louis fell victim to Standish-Sterling and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 14-0 to the Panthers. The Sharks have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

St. Louis' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Shepherd, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6-1.

Shepherd took their win against St. Louis in their previous meeting back in June of 2015 by a conclusive 15-6 score. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
