Basketball Game Preview: Kelso Hilanders vs. Tumwater Thunderbirds

The Kelso Hilanders are taking a road trip to take on the Tumwater Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Saturday, Kelso came up short against Montesano and fell 53-44. The Hilanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Tumwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enumclaw. That's two games in a row now that the Thunderbirds have lost by exactly 12 points.

Kelso's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Tumwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Kelso beat Tumwater 41-30 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kelso since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
