Basketball Game Preview: Northland Prep Academy Spartans vs. St. Johns Redskins

Northland Prep Academy has gone 3-0 against St. Johns recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. Northland Prep Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Two weeks ago, Northland Prep Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-59 to Round Valley.

Northland Prep Academy might have lost, but man, Jaden Joiner was a machine: he went 11 for 22 on his way to 28 points and four steals. Those 28 points gave Joiner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kian Khatibi, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, St. Johns narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pueblo 49-46.

St. Johns' victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Northland Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Northland Prep Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Johns in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northland Prep Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
