Softball Recap: Southern Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

Southern had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Belpre on Thursday. The Tornadoes never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Tornadoes have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Southern pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Belpre, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.
