Volleyball Recap: River Forest Takes a Loss

River Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Griffith Panthers. The Ingots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

River Forest started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19.

Gracelyn Cordero paced River Forest's offense, picking up six kills. Cordero got some help from Angela Duh and her 14 assists. Mila Soto controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading Griffith to victory were Charlee Prutsman and Milah Castro. Prutsman had 13 assists and five digs, while Castro had 13 digs. That's the most digs Castro has posted since September 2nd.

River Forest's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Griffith, they moved to 9-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Looking ahead, River Forest will face off against East Chicago Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Griffith, they will challenge Hobart at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
