Football Recap: Garfield Find Success

Garfield never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kennedy on Friday. They managed a 42-38 victory over the Fighting Irish. The win almost wasn't to be: the Bulldogs were down 31-14 in the third quarter.

Robert Cedillo threw for 78 yards while completing 78.6% of his passes. Ceasar Reyes was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards.

Kennedy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon Hahm, who rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown.

The victory got Garfield back to even at 1-1. As for Kennedy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Garfield has already played their next game, a 21-20 loss against Banning on the 12th. As for Kennedy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 42-7 win against Pioneer on the 12th.
