Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

The Lincoln Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Africentric Early College Nubians at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln can't be too worried about heading out to take on Africentric Early College: they just beat New Albany at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Lincoln had just enough and edged New Albany out 48-46. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Africentric Early College waltzed into their contest on Friday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 45-32. Given the Nubians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Africentric Early College's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Lincoln ended up a good deal behind Africentric Early College when the teams last played back in January of 2018, losing 61-46. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
