Softball Recap: Arlington Takes a Loss

Arlington was the 6-1 winner over Lake Stevens when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Friday.

Peyton Aanstad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Grace Boekenoogen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lake Stevens, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Arlington will face off against Glacier Peak at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Grizzlies have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lake Stevens, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Mountlake Terrace on the 4th.
