Basketball Recap: Newton County Academy Gets the Win

Newton County Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 55-51 victory over the Laurel Christian Lions. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Generals considering their 29-point performance the contest before.

The win got Newton County Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Laurel Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton County Academy will take on Sylva Bay Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel Christian, they will be home for the holidays to greet Prentiss Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Laurel Christian is facing Prentiss Christian at the right time seeing as Prentiss Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
