Basketball Recap: Bluff Dale Takes a Loss

If Bluff Dale was riding high fresh off their 70-24 takedown of Moran last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluff Dale Bobcats were dealt a 70-40 loss at the hands of the Huckabay Indians on Tuesday. The Bobcats lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 89-31 score last time.

Bluff Dale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Stewart, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Saucedo, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Bluff Dale has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Huckabay, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lingleville the next time they take the court. Bluff Dale will head out to face Lingleville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Huckabay will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
