Baseball Game Preview: Cushing Bearkats vs. Mt. Enterprise Wildcats

The Cushing Bearkats will take on the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Enterprise took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cushing, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Cushing got the win against New Summerfield by a conclusive 22-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bearkats in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mt. Enterprise's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They fell just short of Douglass by a score of 5-4.

Caden Harman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lucas Burkhardt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Cushing's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Mt. Enterprise, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-2.
