It was fun while it lasted, but Sunlake's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They fell just short of the Dunedin Falcons by a score of 5-4. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lexi Romero made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Abigail Avant was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sunlake fell to 5-1. As for Dunedin, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Sunlake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Fivay on the 4th. As for Dunedin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Northeast on the 4th.
