Baseball Recap: Brother Martin Extends Winning Streak to Three

Brother Martin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Edna Karr Cougars a 15-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Blaise Tingstrom looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Dominic Toten was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Grant Guilbeau, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Brother Martin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edna Karr didn't got any.

Brother Martin's record now sits at 27-5. As for Edna Karr, they dropped their record down to 3-29 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Edna Karr will head out to face off against Central Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Brother Martin will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' contest: after the Cougars face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Brother Martin again at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
