Syracuse has gone 9-1 against Layton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Titans will look to defend their home pitch against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. Syracuse's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Syracuse is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Davis, who was ranked 18th at the time (Syracuse was ranked 21st). The Titans fell just short of the Darts by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Syracuse couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Layton hadn't done well against Weber recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lancers' defense stepped up to hand the Warriors a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Layton have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Rudy Jensen, who's now up to five this season.

Syracuse now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Layton, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6.

Syracuse came out on top in a nail-biter against Layton in their previous matchup on April 11th, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
