Recap: Wilcox County Patriots vs. Dodge County Indians

It was a good run, but the Wilcox County Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Dodge County on the road and fell 78-47. While losing is never fun, Wilcox County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Indians are ranked 87th).

When it comes to explaining why Wilcox County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Londarius King. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. King has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Alonzo Benjamin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.

Will Jordan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dodge County, scoring 32 points. Jordan is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedon Mcclendon, who scored nine points.

Wilcox County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Dodge County, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Wilcox County will take on the Red Devils at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Hawkinsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday. As for Dodge County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Laurens is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
