Basketball Recap: Newport - Bellevue Takes a Loss

Newport - Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastlake Wolves. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-54 back in December of 2024.

Newport - Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Eastlake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Newport - Bellevue has already played their next match (against Juanita), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastlake will host Interlake at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Interlake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Eastlake likes a good challenge.
