Volleyball Recap: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. West Ashley Wildcats
Ashley Ridge came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the West Ashley Wildcats out 3-2. The Swamp Foxes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Ashley Ridge got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 27-25, 22-25, 15-13.
Alana Braxton paced Ashley Ridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Braxton got some help from
Reece Bellush and her 29 assists. Bellush also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Trinity Medford, racking up two apiece.
Despite the loss, West Ashley still got an impressive performance from Logan Walasek, who had 19 digs, six aces, and a block. That's the most aces Walasek has posted since back in September of 2023.
