            The Walsenburg Panthers are taking a road trip to  take on the Pueblo East Eagles  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
Walsenburg came up short against  Primero on Wednesday, falling  3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 The final score came out to 25-14, 25-10,  25-8.
Meanwhile, Pueblo East made easy work of Pueblo South  last Tuesday and carried off  a  3-0 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Eagles.
 Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pueblo East took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-6,  25-14.
Walsenburg better focus on containing  Myah Abeyta and  Ashlynn Koch as the pair were huge in Pueblo East's win. Abeyta  had 11  digs and two  aces, while  Koch  hit 70% for 15  kills and seven  aces and one  block. The last time  Koch's  hitting percentage was this high was  back in October of 2024.
 Pueblo East  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 19  aces. That's the most  aces they've managed all season.
 Walsenburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Pueblo East, their record is now 13-6.
