Softball Recap: Grants Pass Takes a Loss

Grants Pass had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 6-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Sheldon Irish by a score of 4-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Friday.

As for Sheldon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.

For Sheldon's part, Soraya Dorsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Aspen Womack was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sheldon beat Grants Pass by a score of 4-2 later that day.
