Land O' Lakes faced Robinson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Gators won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Knights 21-20. The win was familiar territory for the Gators, who have now won three matches in a row.

Land O' Lakes found their leader in sophomore Sophia Spiegel, who rushed for 18 yards and two scores, and also threw for 157 yards and one touchdown.

One reason for the win was Land O' Lakes' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Tashara Davis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself.

When it comes to explaining why Robinson lost, don't look at Haidyn Spano. Despite the final result, she threw for 208 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown. Spano didn't just play on offense: she also made three total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Land O' Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Robinson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-3 record.

Land O' Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-0 win against Pasco on the 7th. Robinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
