Volleyball Recap: Utica Eisenhower Triumphs

Utica Eisenhower had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Royal Oak Ravens. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Their offense was headlined by Olivia Berishaj and Liliana Gegovic, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Liliana Lily Tripi and her 16 assists. Gegovic and Tripi didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Utica Eisenhower will be taking part in a tournament against Imlay City at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Royal Oak, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lamphere at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
