Softball Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

Valley View lost against Brookville two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 12-10. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly two runs.

Valley View got a massive performance out of Jillian Shell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Reese Riley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Valley View now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Brookville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will challenge Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookville, they will square off against Bethel at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
