Whitmer proved they can win big on October 4th (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Copley Indians 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Whitmer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 16-14.
When it comes to explaining why Copley lost, don't look at Jayli Owens. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and three aces. Owens has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last ten times she's played.
Whitmer's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Copley, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 15-8.
