Softball Recap: Sacred Heart of Jesus Comes Up Short

Sacred Heart of Jesus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramona Convent Tigers. If the Comets were looking for revenge after losing 10-9 to them when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Melania Saborio was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Alina Valenzuela was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Sacred Heart of Jesus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Ramona Convent, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Sacred Heart of Jesus will head out to face off against Southlands Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southlands Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Ramona Convent, they will welcome Pasadena at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
