Soccer Game Preview: Westwood vs. Skyline

The Westwood Warriors will square off against the Skyline Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Westwood turned things around against Dobson on Thursday. Neither they nor the Mustangs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for the Warriors as the squad haven't won a game since December 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, Skyline also has not seen a win for a while (their last was back in December of 2024), and their contest on Thursday was sadly no different. They lost 7-0 to Mesa. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Jackrabbits are ranked fourth).

Westwood's draw makes their record 5-5-2 this season. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Westwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Skyline in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Westwood repeat their success, or does Skyline have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
