Baseball Game Preview: Wasatch Wasps vs. Timpview Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, Wasatch will face off against Timpview. The Wasps are taking a road trip to challenge the Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

If Wasatch beats Timpview with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wasps came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 6-2 on Monday. The Wasps haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Miguel Armendariz tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wasatch let Austin Brown and Braxton Faller run wild. Brown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Faller went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jackson Komaromy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Timpview has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Wasatch, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
