Volleyball Game Preview: San Gabriel Matadors vs. Bell Gardens Lancers

The San Gabriel Matadors will head out on the road to challenge the Bell Gardens Lancers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Gabriel took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Schurr. The Matadors haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Bell Gardens entered their tilt with Magnolia on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Sentinels by a score of 3-1.

Bell Gardens had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20.

San Gabriel now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Bell Gardens, their victory bumped their record up to 15-13.

San Gabriel came up short against Bell Gardens when the teams last played back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Matadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
