The Wingate Bears will challenge the Cuba Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wingate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.

Wingate took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They snuck past Valley with a 53-49 victory. While the Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wingate relied on the efforts of Zefferino Flores, who posted 20 points, and Matthew Whitehair, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Flores has scored at least a third of the Bears' points.

Meanwhile, Cuba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Escalante, falling 59-35.

Wingate pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Cuba, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything came up roses for Wingate against Cuba when the teams last played back in January of 2025, as the team secured a 77-45 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
