Basketball Game Preview: Wayland Wildcats vs. Cedar Springs Red Hawks

Wayland and Cedar Springs are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Wayland Wildcats will welcome the Cedar Springs Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Cedar Springs is hoping to do what Hopkins couldn't on Friday: put an end to Wayland's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Wayland walked away with a 66-55 win over Hopkins. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Cedar Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Jenison on Tuesday and fell 58-55. The Red Hawks haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Cedar Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wayland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Wayland came up short against Cedar Springs in their previous meeting back in February, falling 57-46. Can Wayland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
