Softball Recap: Antioch Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Antioch). They were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over the Wauconda Bulldogs on Thursday. This was payback for the Sequoits, who suffered a 10-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Antioch's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wauconda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch will challenge Yorkville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Foxes' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Sequoits' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wauconda, they will square off against Cary-Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
