Baseball Recap: Dublin Coffman Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dublin Coffman came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Hayes Pacers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday.

James Baughman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dublin Coffman is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-16 otherwise.

At the plate, Jace Proper was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Dublin Coffman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Dublin Coffman's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Hayes, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9.

Dublin Coffman and Hayes could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Shamrocks will face off against Westerville North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (257 vs. 108). Meanwhile, Hayes (ranked 113th) will meet Olentangy Liberty (ranked fourth) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
