Recap: Boquet Valley Griffins vs. Willsboro Central Warriors
There's no place like home for the Boquet Valley Griffins, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They took down Willsboro Central 60-41 on Monday. Given Boquet Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Willsboro Central is ranked 820th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson Hooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Ben Burdo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Boquet Valley's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Willsboro Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boquet Valley will take on Keene Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Boquet Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Keene Central likes a good challenge. As for Willsboro Central, they will be playing at home against Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bolton Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Willsboro Central surely won't give up without a fight.
