Baseball Recap: Berry Comes Up Short

After flying high against Olympic on Friday, Berry came back down to earth. The Cardinals came up short against the South Mecklenburg Sabres on Monday, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Sabres this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss back in March.

Berry saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for South Mecklenburg, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-10.

Berry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Mecklenburg, they will square off against Ardrey Kell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Sabres surely won't give up without a fight.
