Baseball Recap: North Eugene's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

North Eugene had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Ashland Grizzlies 12-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 9-3 win on Friday.

Aaron Spratt tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Duncan Roudabush was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Blake Singleton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

North Eugene's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Ashland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, North Eugene will take on Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Ashland, they will challenge Marshfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
