Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield lost against Fairmont back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Firebirds, falling 11-4.

Springfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazzdyn Frock, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Fairmont, their record now sits at 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Fairmont, they will challenge Beavercreek at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Firebirds are facing the Beavers at the right time seeing as the Beavers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
