Basketball Recap: Rockford East's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rockford East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Huntley Red Raiders by a score of 70-60. For the E-Rabs, this counts as revenge for the 49-48 win the Red Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Rockford East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Harper, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sterling Hoarde, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Rockford East was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are 18-7 when they've passed the ball that well.

Rockford East's record now sits at 20-12. As for Huntley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-19.

Looking ahead, Rockford East will look to defend their home court on Friday against Guilford at 7:00 p.m. Guilford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Rockford East likes a good challenge. Huntley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
