Jackson Academy picks up 12th straight win on the road

Recap: Jackson Academy Raiders vs. St. Joseph Catholic Bruins

The Jackson Academy Raiders came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past St. Joseph Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. Given Jackson Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while St. Joseph Catholic is ranked 37th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mike Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Williams, who scored 11 points along with five assists.

Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 29-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Joseph Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson Academy will take on Presbyterian Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jackson Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartfield Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hartfield Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
