Baseball Recap: Midway Victorious

Midway proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the North Lenoir Hawks.

Carson Tew was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Scott, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Midway now has a winning record of 3-2. As for North Lenoir, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Midway is taking a road trip to face off against West Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Johnston's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Midway's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Lenoir, they will take on Southwest Onslow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be North Lenoir's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
