Baseball Game Preview: Silsbee Tigers vs. Northside Falcons HomeSchool Falcons

The Silsbee Tigers will challenge the Northside Falcons HomeSchool Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Silsbee has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Silsbee took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Lumberton 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 28th.

The team relied heavily on Haegyn Morris Ha, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. J Miller was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Morris Ha wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Silsbee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside Falcons HomeSchool). Everything went their way against HCYA on Tuesday as Northside Falcons HomeSchool made off with a 20-3 win. Considering the Falcons have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaleb Steiger was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jerry Hokenson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Northside Falcons HomeSchool's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.3 runs. As for Silsbee, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Silsbee couldn't quite get it done against Northside Falcons HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can Silsbee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
